The presentation of this photo is the thing that I enjoy most about it. The bright colors of the moon against the black background really complement each other, and the stars add a nice touch. This picture gives me the feelings of mystery and safety, because of the light on dark contrast in it. I don't think that the photographer could have done anything to make this photo better. It is already perfect.
The main idea of this photo is obliviously the Waxwing on the berries. This idea is shown very well by the photographer, who has centered the Waxwing in the frame. The blurred background also adds to this, although I think that if the background had been slightly more blurred it would have helped with clarity. This photo makes me feel happy, because I love to see animals in the wild hunting and caring for each other.
This photo contains a lot of contrast. The white, almost purple lightning, on a background of dark purples, browns and blacks and also bright yellows and oranges. I think that the clarity is pretty good, although it could have been better if it was shown as the very main item in the photo. The overall photo makes me feel slightly nervous, but in the center, the orange magma flow makes me feel warm and happy. The black on the outside, however, makes me feel scared. The photographer of this photo did an interesting job of catching contrast in this photo, and I don't think that he could have done it any better.

You have briefly discussed the criteria for each photo. Your last critique has more substance and is more descriptive. Your first photo makes me feel so insignificant. It is very powerful.
